Evaluate job fit on a 1-5 scale to reduce unnecessary applications with a local AI agent
If you have ever sent applications every night and waited for replies, you know the frustration. This tool evaluates how well a job matches your resume on a 1-5 scale before you apply and advises you not to apply if the fit is low. It runs locally within your existing AI coding terminal and is an open-source agent that also helps with resume writing and interview preparation.
Pre-application filtering and tailored document creation
When you paste a job URL or description, it first checks if the posting is still valid. It then compares your resume with the job requirements to score the fit, recommending that you hold off on applying if the score is below 4.0. If it determines the fit is good, it automatically generates a resume PDF and cover letter that are easy for ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) to read. The entire process happens on your computer, and you are the only one who presses the final submit button.
Interview preparation and hiring process tracking
Beyond simple document creation, it generates company research and interview preparation materials. It investigates recent trends and engineering culture at the target company and organizes potential interview questions and answer examples using the STAR+R framework. It also provides a dashboard to track application status, allowing you to see at a glance which companies you applied to and when. It includes a feature that analyzes rejection patterns to tell you which skills or experiences are lacking.
Local-first design and data security
This tool runs on your computer, and your resume or application data is not sent to external servers. Data moves only to the AI provider you select, and there is no telemetry or backend server. It does not have a feature to automatically send emails or applications, and it is designed so that all drafts are reviewed by you before you submit them directly. This is based on the philosophy that in an era where AI filters candidates, candidates can use AI to choose companies.
Pre-use checks and limitations
A Node.js environment is required, and Playwright and Chromium must be installed for PDF generation. During initial setup, you must enter your resume and target job via chat, and the first run may be rough, so you need to refine your profile by conversing with the AI. While code checks prevent the AI from creating content that differs from facts when restructuring your resume, it cannot judge every sentence correction, so you must personally verify all content before submission. Free models are supported, but proper AI model configuration is important for accurate evaluation.
