Automate social media scheduling with AI agents
Imagine posting to multiple platforms at once, having AI refine your content, and managing schedules with your team. Postiz is a social media scheduling tool that embeds AI features to streamline content creation and distribution. You can use it as a cloud service or install it on your own server to manage data directly.
Content workflows with AI agents
Postiz goes beyond simple scheduling by using AI agents to automate the content creation process. By connecting your preferred AI agent, you can perform various tasks such as drafting posts or generating images. It also integrates with automation platforms like N8N, Make.com, and Zapier via API, making it suitable for building complex workflows. Team members can collaborate on content management through features like commenting, swapping, or purchasing posts.
Differences between cloud and self-hosting
Postiz is available as a fully managed cloud service and an open-source self-hosted version.
- Data sovereignty When self-hosting, data stays on your server and does not leave your infrastructure. This is a significant advantage in environments that must strictly adhere to data residency or security regulations.
- Cost structure The cloud version involves subscription fees and monthly quotas, while the self-hosted version is free under the AGPL-3.0 license, requiring only infrastructure costs. You can use AI features without quota limits by using your own API keys.
- Maintenance responsibility The cloud version automatically applies updates and security patches, whereas the self-hosted version requires you to handle maintenance tasks such as pulling new images and running migrations.
Tech stack and installation requirements
Postiz is written in TypeScript and built on Next.js and NestJS. It uses PostgreSQL as the default database, along with Redis and Temporal. You can deploy it via Docker, Coolify, Railway, or a VPS, but you must configure Postgres, Redis, storage, and environment variables yourself. Quick start is possible by referring to the official documentation and YouTube tutorials.
Things to check before self-hosting
Postiz uses official OAuth flows for social media platforms and does not perform content scraping or automation. It does not store or relay user API keys or access tokens; users always authenticate directly with social platforms. If you choose self-hosting, be aware that the developer app approval process for each social platform can take time, and you will need your own API keys to use AI features. Additionally, while the AGPL-3.0 license allows you to freely modify and fork the source code, you must comply with its terms.
